Determination of Microquantities of Iodine in Biological Materials
نویسنده
چکیده
This paper presents a modified method of iodine determination in biological material using the results of various authors and own knowledge. For our procedure the iodine mass loss was experimentally determined using radionuclide 1 2 5 l . The average value of iodine mass losses 19.8 % indicates that the method is suitable for the determination of microquantities of iodine (10—400 (ig dm") in biological materials.

Determination of Trace Level Iodine in Biological and Botanical Reference Materials by Isotope Dilution Mass Spectrometry
A method has been developed for the determination of trace level iodine in biological and botanical materials. The method consists of spiking a sample with 129I, equilibration of the spike with the natural iodine, wet ashing under carefully controlled conditions, and separation of the iodine by co-precipitation with silver chloride. Measurement of the 129I/127I ratio is accomplished by negative...
متن کاملDetermination of total iodine in urine, stool, diets, and tissue.
13ETIiRMINATION of total iodine in various materials has become of increasing interest, especially in nutritional studies. Several methods are available for such determination. Many of them have been principally concerned with the protein-bound iodine fraction in serum (1, 2). Other methods for iodine determination have appeared from time to time. Mathews et al. (3) have proposed a method which...
متن کاملIodine Determination in Raw Cow's Milk in Iran
Iodine is an essential trace element in the human diet. The following work presents the latest information concerned with iodine determination in raw milk, in Iran. Iodine content of milk was determined by Sandell-Kolthoff method where the samples were taken from Holstein dairy cows, in Shahrkord, the central part of Iran. Thirty six samples were taken from transportation tanks in semi industri...
متن کاملThe microdetermination of iodine in biological materials with special reference to the combustion of samples in the Parr oxygen bomb.
The most troublesome obstacle to the quantitative determination of the very minute quantities of iodine which are normally present in biological materials has been the destruction, without loss of iodine, of the relatively large amounts of organic matter present. The procedures which have been used to destroy the organic matter include fusion with alkali, combustion in a closed system, and dige...
متن کاملThe quantitative separation of estrogens by paper partition chromatography.
The varying success of known chromat’ographic procedures for the separation and identification of microquantities of estrogens (1, 2) has led to the development of paper partit!ion chromatographic techniques which are reported here. These t’echniques permit rapid separation, identification, and quantitative estimation of free est.rogens in biological materials. The solvent systems of o-dichloro...
